ABOUT ME!!

Voice over:

In this farewell
There’s no blood
There’s no Alibi
‘Cause I’ve Drawn Regret
From the truth
Of a Thousand Lies.

Lyrics embedded into my skin reminding me I have lost loved and suffered. My life isn’t filled with regrets only decision and choices. Who am I? My friends and family are everything to me they are  apart of me and who I am.  I’m a crazy goofball who loves movies an escape from reality. I say the most random things especially when I’m really tired I talk fast and it starts to blur together, according to my friends I’m also the most confusing girl you could ever talk to only because I don’t make sense half the time. This is only apart of me the rest is for everyone else to figure out and for me to shine through.

NEWS READER
Good afternoon, I’m Victor Screamer and this is breaking news.
Tonight we have the segment on ‘How to get away with murder’ presented to you by a man in black.

EXT-FLORENCE CLOSE-DAY

PERSENTER
Hi, im Max Slawter, welcome to Murder For Dummies, for those with a killer urge, but don’t know where to start. This is part 1 of our step-by-step guide on how to kill and get away with it.

PRESENTER
Murder isn’t new neither is the parallel patterns of behaviour that continually emerges from time to time, due to the consistent disregard of the rules. People commit the same crimes for the same motives. They get caught because they make the same mistakes, and when arrested they trot out the same excuses.

EXT-FLORENCE CLOSE-NIGHT
PERSENTER
Step no. 1 choosing a victim.
Serial killers make the fine art of selecting a victim look easy, but, there is in fact method to the madness.
Don’t kill on some kind of personal vendetta. Random victims are an ideal kill because they help to eliminate motive. Never murder a family member or friends as a simple fight between you and the deceased could tie you to the crime that’s why random acts of violence to a stranger leaves you with no motive, so nothing for the police to trace back to you.
Selecting the first victim can be a daunting process, and can sometimes take days, but sometimes when you look at a particular person, its almost like they have the word “VICTIM” written on them.

(Girl walks past, victim written on his shirt)
(While presenter explains step 1,short scenes appear on certain sentences)

INT-GARAGE/SHED-NIGHT

PERSENTER
Step no.2 selecting a weapon.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a one time killer, a part time killer or a serial killer, you still need weapons. Weapons can be anything, from your bare hands to a bazooka, the only thing that limits what can be a weapon is your own imagination. Unless your trying to make a statement, unique weapons are probably a bad idea, because if the police find it, it wont be long before they trace it back to you. Noisy weapons like guns are a bad idea, unless your in a sound proof room or the middle of nowhere. Guns are very easy to trace, so if you want to use one of those you must remember to remove all bullets and shell casings from the crime scene. Whatever weapon you have will determine the look of the kill, if you go for something sharp, your victim will have stab wounds, if you go for something heavy they’ll have blunt force trauma, you need to think about these things when you are picking your weapon.

(Random weapons lined out)
(While presenter explains step 2,short scenes appear on certain sentences)

PERSENTER
You want a weapon that minimizes the evidence factor. Gore and blood is all good and fun but leaves a mess that’s almost near impossible to clean and you don’t need an extra problem on your hands.

(Blood everywhere)

PERSENTER
Part 3: Techniques

It doesn’t matter how tall someone is, or how much muscle they have, every human body has the same weak spots, places like: the throat, the nose, the eyes, joints, and the scrotum. Taking advantage of these weak spots can make your kill quite effortless, not to mention quite handy to exploit if the victim decides to fight back. A dose of chloroform isn’t a bad idea either. The kind of weapon you have determines which part of the body you want to attack, if your weapon is sharp, the torso and neck is a good option, if your weapon is heavy, a few blows to the head should take them down.

(Dose’s the wrong victim with chloroform)

INT-HOUSE-NIGHT
PERSENTER
Part 4: Hiding And Removing Evidence

The ability to hide and remove evidence after a kill can make or break ones killing career. All the effort that went toward organising the kill will mean nothing if the police catch you. Wearing leather or rubber gloves is also a good idea to prevent fingerprint transfer. Glad wrap is an excellent substitute for concealing unwanted follicles.

(While presenter explains step 4,short scenes appear on certain sentences)

PRESENETER
Part 5: Disposing Of The Body

When disposing of your victims body, there’s several do’s and don’ts. Don’t throw the body any old place. The two best options you have are: bury the body in the middle of the wilderness where no one will find it, or cut the body up into small pieces, and feed it to the animals.

(While presenter explains step 5,short scenes appear on certain sentences)

Now remember get away with murder or go to jail, I’m Max Slawter. Good hunting!

Big project

Review: AMCI (australian centre for the moving image)

The display featured at acmi Australian centre for the moving image, focused purely on Baz Luhrmann’s Australia. The expedition titled Setting the Scene: Film Design from Metropolis to Australia introduced Spaces of Power, Stage, Private, Virtual, Labyrinth, Location, Transit which only acuminated a quarter of the expedition while Luhrmann’s Australia dominated the rest of the space over powering any knowledge of the film history.

Take It Back!!

Abusive relationships can camouflages itself in so many different characteristic that involve either verbal or physical attacks on an individual.

My  individual montage shows a story about a girl who is troubled  by her relationshipis with an ex. She is threatened by phone calls, then decides to leave home, while her ex decides to take matters into his own hands.

SHOT ONE
Long shot of bedroom, with the girl packing her things.

SHOT TWO
Close-up on mobil,an old conversation playing in the background.

THIRD SHOT
Medium low shot of the guy getting into the car, close up on door opening, long shot of car driving away.

THE SPIRIT

THE SPIRIT is a 2008 American comic book adaptation, written and directed by Frank Miller and based on the newspaper comic strip THE SPIRIT by Will Eisner. The visual aspect of the film mimics Miller’s earlier work ‘SIN CITY’ where he plays on there world as a comic by using silhouettes as an effective tone in the film. The picturesque scenery of the film was drowned in effects, over shadowing the films story which in some cases threatens the story, but in this particular film the special effects were the only entertainment. We had a story where the main character isn’t taken seriously, whether that was intentional or not is based on others opinions, who is meant to be a hero who is born ,murdered and resurrected to fight crime against the city and is obsessed with killing the Octopus. THE SPIRIT had no real story that captured any of my attention, except for the depths of the shots and the use of the rule of thirds especially when a gun is drawn. Yes the effects were good but poorly constructed in some scenes for example when he’s running along the power lines in the first part of the film you can see that he’s running on the spot against either a green or blue screen it just looked ridiculous, but did successfully get a laugh out of me. The characters alone were morbidly interesting they had no depth or any unique individuality that made them stand out as exceptional characters that marveled in ‘SIN CITY’.
